The 200th Metro
July 22, 2008

Well, that didn't take long. We have our 200th Metro, and it's Jorge Rojas. The midfielder, who started the game against the Galaxy on July 19th, becomes the 200th player to ever suit for the franchise in a meaningful match. Rojas acquitted himself well, assisting on both Metro goals on his debut. Late in the game, Juan Pietravallo became the 201st Metro, by playing one minute plus injury time as a sub.

Since one of the 200 (Alex Dixon) only played for Metro in Copa Merconorte and three (John Gilkerson, Gordon Kljestan, and David Roth) only appeared in the Open Cup, Metro is still below 200 players as far as MLS matches are concerned. Rojas would be #196, and Pietravallo #197.

#200: Jorge Rojas, 90 minutes vs Los Angeles, July 19, 2008.
